About Me

James Rowley, MD is a pulmonologist and the program director of the Sleep Medicine Fellowship at RUSH University Medical Center. He is the president of and a member of the board of directors of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the largest professional organization in the US dedicated to the advancement of sleep medicine. He has published many position statements for important topics in the field; and has contributed to several sleep medicine guidelines for clinical care.

“I believe it's very important to listen to the patient to get a better understanding of why they are coming for an evaluation. I believe strongly in treating the patient’s symptoms, not numbers from a test. I very much involve the patient in the management plan and make sure they understand what to expect in testing or treatment.”
