About Me

Shannon Li, MD, MS, graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, then completed her residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at RUSH University Medical Center. She became an attending cardiologist at RUSH Oak Park Hospital in 2023 and is an assistant professor at RUSH University. Li’s clinical interests include women’s heart health and coronary microvascular dysfunction. She has contributed to publications including Current Cardiovascular Imaging Reports and the European Heart Journal.

Li’s care philosophy is to “treat patients as I would treat my own family members and be a good listener. A lot of diagnosis can be made with a good history and physical. I try to find the time to explain the diagnosis and any pertinent treatment plan and diagnostic tests because I think it goes a long way and helps me to establish rapport with my patients.”

I have only recently had to visit a cardiologist. This was my second visit with Dr. Li. I am so impressed by Dr. Li. She listens very carefully to my questions and answers them in a very professional and understandable manner.I am very comfortable with her and have a good deal of confidence in the way she is handling my heart issues.
