Xiaoping (Amanda) Wu, MD, MS, is a pulmonary and critical care physician and director of the Interstitial Lung Disease Program at RUSH University Medical Center. Her clinical interests include pulmonary fibrosis and lung involvement of connective tissue disease. She uses a multi-disciplinary approach to navigate the complexities of advanced lung disease and provide care that is tailored to an individual patient’s needs. After many years in New York, Wu joined RUSH to pursue her goal of expanding patient access to comprehensive pulmonary fibrosis care through the RUSH Lung Center.
Wu aims to develop diagnostic and treatment plans that combine a minimally invasive approach with the latest advancements in medical therapy. Her research interests include discovery of biological markers of pulmonary fibrosis and development of molecular tools to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. She has been an investigator in numerous clinical trials for pulmonary fibrosis and COPD at Weill Cornell, where she served as assistant professor after her fellowship training. She is a member of the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians.
